Shopify App

The XC Scribe Shopify app lets you generate product descriptions and blog posts directly inside your Shopify Admin. No need to switch between platforms -- select a product, choose your language and tone, and get ready-to-publish content in seconds.

Installation

1. Find XC Scribe in the Shopify App Store or install from the Partner Dashboard.
2. Authorize the app when prompted. Required permissions: read/write products, read/write content (blog posts).
3. After installation, open the app from your Shopify Admin sidebar.

First-Time Setup

When you first open the app, you'll be asked to enter your XC Scribe API key:

1. Go to app.xcscribe.com/settings and navigate to API Keys.
2. Create a new API key and copy it.
3. Paste the API key into the Settings tab of the Shopify app.

Once configured, the app displays your current plan and XCT balance at the top.

Product Descriptions

The Product Descriptions tab shows a two-column layout:

• Left panel -- Browse and search your Shopify products. Filter by status (Active, Draft, Archived) or collection.
• Right panel -- Select a product, configure AI settings, and generate a description.

Generating a Description

1. Select a product from the list.
2. Expand AI Settings to choose language (31 languages available), tone (Professional, Conversational, Luxury, Playful, Technical), and optional custom instructions.
3. Click Generate Description.
4. Review the result in Preview mode, or switch to Edit HTML to modify it.
5. Click Apply to Shopify to replace the product's description in your store.

Blog Posts

The Blog Posts tab lets you generate full blog articles:

1. Enter a topic (e.g., "Top 10 summer fashion trends").
2. Select the target blog from the dropdown (auto-detected from your store).
3. Choose language, tone, and optional custom instructions.
4. Click Generate and review the output.
5. Click Create Draft in Shopify to save it as a draft blog article.

About & Full Platform

The About XC Scribe tab explains the app and links to the full platform at app.xcscribe.com, which offers:

• Bulk generation for hundreds of products at once
• AI Studio for custom content with human review
• Analytics and token usage tracking
• Multi-store support (Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento 2)
• Team collaboration with role-based access

Billing

All content generated through the Shopify app is billed in XCT against your organization's balance, the same as the web platform. The balance bar at the top shows your current plan and remaining credits.

• Free plan users see an "Upgrade" link.
• Paid plan users with balance below 100 XCT see a "Top up" link.

Privacy

The Shopify app only accesses product and blog data necessary for content generation. No customer data is stored. GDPR compliance webhooks are implemented for data deletion requests. See Data & Privacy for details.
