Account Recovery
If you lose access to your account, XC Scribe offers several recovery options.
Forgot Your Password
- Go to the login page and click Forgot password?.
- Enter the email address associated with your account.
- Click Send Reset Link.
- Check your email inbox for a message from XC Scribe. Click the reset link in the email.
- Enter your new password (minimum 8 characters) and confirm it.
- Click Reset Password.
You can now log in with your new password.
Reset Link Expired
Password reset links are valid for a limited time. If your link has expired, you'll see a message saying "The reset link is invalid or has expired." Click Request new link to start the process again.
Didn't Receive the Email
- Check your spam or junk folder.
- Verify you entered the correct email address.
- Wait a few minutes -- emails may take time to arrive.
- Try requesting a new reset link.
Locked Out of Two-Factor Authentication
If you enabled 2FA and can no longer access your authenticator app or email:
- Use a backup code. When you first set up 2FA, you received a set of backup codes. Enter one of these codes on the 2FA verification screen instead of the regular code.
- Contact your organization admin. Admins can reset your 2FA from Settings > Account Users by clicking the reset button next to your name. You will then need to set up 2FA again.
- Contact support. If you are the only admin and have lost all backup codes, reach out to XC Scribe support for account recovery assistance.
Change Your Password
If you know your current password and want to change it:
- Navigate to Settings > Security.
- Enter your current password.
- Enter your new password (minimum 8 characters).
- Confirm the new password.
- Click Change Password.
Email Verification
After registering, you'll receive a verification email. Click the link to activate your account. If the link has expired, you can request a new verification email from the login page.
