Projects
A project is the central building block of XC AI Content Automation. It acts as a container for all content generation work tied to a specific e-commerce platform. Each project maintains its own data sources, AI settings, and generated content items, keeping your work organized and separated by store or campaign.
Creating a Project
To create a new project:
- Click the New Project button.
- Enter a descriptive name for your project.
- Select the e-commerce platform you are targeting: Shopify, WooCommerce, or Magento 2.
- The project is created immediately and placed in Draft status, ready for you to configure and start generating content.
Project List
The project list gives you an overview of all your projects in a table format. You can use the available controls to quickly find the project you need:
- Search -- Type a project name into the search field to filter the list in real time.
- Status filter -- Narrow the list by status. Choose from All, Draft, Processing, Review, or Completed.
- Platform filter -- Show only projects for a specific e-commerce platform.
Project Statuses Explained
Every project moves through a series of statuses that reflect where it is in the content lifecycle:
- Draft -- The project has been created but no content has been generated yet. Use this stage to configure your data sources and AI settings.
- Processing -- Content generation or a store sync is currently in progress. You can monitor progress but cannot make edits to items while processing is active.
- Review -- Generated content is ready for your review. At this stage you can inspect, edit, approve, or reject individual content items.
- Completed -- All content items have been reviewed and approved. The project is finished and its content is ready for use in your store.
Editing a Project
To change a project's name, click the edit button next to the project in the list. Update the name and save your changes. Other project settings, such as data sources and AI configuration, are managed from within the project detail view.
Deleting Projects
When you delete a project, it is not removed permanently right away. Instead, it is moved to the trash, where it is retained for 30 days before automatic permanent deletion.
To view deleted projects, enable the Show trash filter on the project list. From the trash view you can:
- Restore a project to return it to its previous status and continue working with it.
- Permanently delete a project to remove it and all of its content immediately.
Note that projects with an active store sync cannot be deleted. You must disconnect the sync before the project can be moved to the trash.
Dashboard Quick Access
For convenience, the Dashboard displays your 5 most recent projects in a summary view. Each entry shows the project name, the number of content items it contains, and a status badge so you can see at a glance where things stand. Click any project in the list to open it directly.
